Call me biased because I work with the rapper, the director, and several people involved in the video. But if it was wack, believe that I’d tell them about it and not promote this at all.
With that being said, this song is pretty dope, and the hook is catchy. So enjoy! Happy Wednesday y’all.
So I love, Love, LOVE me some Jimmy Needham. He performed here over the summer and he was great. Humble, funny, and ever so self-depreciating, he vaulted to the shortlist of my favorite singers ever. And when I get married, I will be walking down the aisle to “Unfailing Love,” mark my words.
Grace Amazing is one of my favorite songs from Nightlights, so when I heard there was gonna be a video I was very excited. The video did not disappoint. AT ALL. The video is clever and well executed. I got excited near the end once everything came together and it made me really reflect on how God’s grace is indeed amazing. Check the video. Post haste.
My husband in my head (one of many anyway) B.Reith has finally dropped the new single “The Comeback Kid.” The song has a triumphant Rocky-esque quality to it, which is in fact mentioned in the song. The video takes place with Brian dropping his lines in a Boxing ring and at a press conference. the lyrics are very motivational, and his wordplay is always very clever. Best lines in the song:
Couldn’t find a hot beat so I made my own
Couldn’t find a hot street so we paved a road
Near the last time the chorus runs a crowd bum rushes the ring to kick it with Brian, and I noticed how the black girl was slick enough to slide in there first like she had an agenda. I ain’t mad at you girl! B. Reith just does somethin to the sistas lol..
With that being said, it’s a great video, and overall a great track to add to your workout playlist.
I’ve been super lazy when it comes to music lately and that makes me sad. But as spring makes it’s way and summer comes along, Music Festival Season will be among us and I will rejoice. I haven’t been to a live music event and it’s been too long. Richman will be making his way through the country and I personally cannot wait! So get familiar and check the music video below. Great Scripture thrown out too, so you might wanna take notes. Be sure to check him out on twitter, and the director too (aptly named, Mr. Director)
So those of you who know me know that I am a die hard DeepSpace 5 fan. I have been waiting and waiting and waiting (and annoying Playdough about it on twitter) about news on the new album and it’s finally here!! Well sorta…
“The Future Ain’t What it Used to Be” Drops April 27th troopers so mark your calendars. They’ll be taking pre-orders soon and you can bet I’ll be one of the first in line to sign up for that. I’m expecting DS5 to do big things this year with this album so you better go ahead and get familiar. Check the video below and hit up their record label’s website for more info:
If you’re not in anyway familiar with LA Symphony then shame on you! CookBook dropped his album “I Love the 80′s” a while back, but he’s re-issuing the album this month. It’s laden with slick beats and funny 80′s wordplay, but it hits on great messages. You can check out his MySpace and you can also follow him on twitter @CookBookthePR
Here’s the video for his first single, “Solid Gold”
